MAPGAP

Google Maps checkup for HVAC & plumbing shops

Short, readable, and meant to be kept. This is not a ranking contract.

What Map Gap is

A page for HVAC and plumbing owners with a public Google Business Profile. You paste a listing, see a free check from public data, and may buy a one-time competitor report for $195. After that report, you may buy a one-time listing rebuild for $397. We can make the fixes for you, or you can do them from the report. We never take ownership of the listing. You stay the owner.

Hard nos

  1. No keyword-stuffed names. Do not rename “Joe’s Plumbing” to “Joe’s Plumbing Plumber Near Me Best Plumber Town.” Google suspends that. Use the legal business name.
  2. No fake reviews. We do not buy, swap, gate, or write reviews as the customer. We do not sell “15 reviews this month.”
  3. No listing hostage. We never take Google Business Profile ownership. You remain the owner. No access or password is needed for the $195 competitor report. If you want us to make the fixes, we submit each change as a suggested edit on your Google listing, and you approve it in your Google Business Profile.
  4. No guaranteed rankings. No “#1 on Google,” no “you will show in the top 3 in 14 days,” no “you will outrank X.”
  5. No invented numbers. Review counts, stars, positions, and competitor names are observed or they are UNKNOWN. UNKNOWN is not zero.
  6. No spam, chat, or phone line. There is no contact form and no chat. We don’t run a mailing list. We may send a shop one personal email; reply and ask, and we won’t email again. Stripe emails the receipt; that is the refund path below.
  7. No monthly plan on this site. The competitor report is $195. The rebuild is $397, one time.

The $195 competitor report

Paid before delivery of the written report. If card checkout is not connected yet, the site will not collect a card and will show “Payment not connected yet.” There is no simulated checkout. The amount on the card is the amount set on the Stripe payment link.

If the report doesn’t show at least 3 specific fixes for your listing, reply to your receipt email and we’ll refund you. That receipt comes from the business through Stripe. There is no chat and no phone number.

Unless Google Places is turned on, the free check uses public map listings (OpenStreetMap Nominatim) and, when you paste a Google URL, that public page. How fast reviews come in, and Google posts, stay UNKNOWN unless they were actually on the page we could read. UNKNOWN is not zero.

If the operator turns on the Google Places API, the check uses that API instead. The gaps come from review count, star rating, website, hours, photos (shown as 0–9 or 10+, because Places returns at most 10), primary category, and phone. Google Posts and 90-day review velocity are not in that API, so the check does not report them and does not invent them. If a star rating or review count does not come back, the page says not listed. Not listed is not zero, and it is not counted as a gap.

Google Maps data

When a check uses Google Places, the page shows a Google Maps attribution next to that content. Places data is not placed on a non-Google map. The data is covered by the Google Maps Platform Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.

For those checks we store the search you typed and the Google place IDs. We do not store the Google listing contents (names, addresses, ratings, review counts, hours, websites, photos) in our database or in a link. Opening the result loads them from Google again.
